ATTEND A MEETING

Regularly Scheduled Planning Commission Meetings are held the second Thursday of the Month at 5:30 PM. The Board of Adjustment hears cases regarding Dimensional Variances and Conditional Use Permits.

 

Meetings occur at the following location unless otherwise advertised:

All citizens wishing to speak on a case are requested to sign in prior to the meeting to ensure time is distributed evenly.

 

A variance is a request to deviate from current Zoning requirements.  If granted, a variance essentially waives a specific requirement of the regulations. For example, if a property owner wants to locate a structure closer to a lot line than the regulations allow, a variance would be required.

A conditional use is a use that is permitted subject to compliance with a set of conditions or requirements set forth in the regulations. For example, dog kennels are allowed in R-1 Zoning with an approved Conditional Use Permit. Reasonable restrictions may be placed on the permit such as number of breeding dogs, times allowed outside etc.
